The 14-year-old lake is stocked and managed by South East Pond Management in Madison, MS. It is not unusual to catch several bass over 8 pounds in a day.

Based in Baton Rouge and a French professor at LSU, Margo Brault, reignited her painting during the pandemic. It was during this time she discovered the incredible story of the Louisiana Whooping Cranes. After watching the department’s videos on the crane project, Brault began painting not only the cranes but sometimes the costumed biologist. Brualt has painted over 20 scenes of Louisiana Whooping cranes and their costumed care takers.  Her vivid artwork often features the work of biologist along with the birds in the images.

You and a guest will have the unique experience of electrofish sampling for Largemouth Bass on Toledo Bend Reservoir, LA. This is a true in-field experience with LDWF Fishery Staff conducting annual samples for trending data on numbers and size of the population in April, 2024. Staff will discuss expectations, equipment, goals, and sampling history on Toledo Bend.  Electrofishing the most successful areas of the lake will begin at sunset and conclude at 11:00 P.M. to midnight.  All life preservers and essential equipment are provided.
