Summer Camp for Kids

LAWFF sponsors two free summer day camps at the Waddill Outdoor Education Center in Baton Rouge every summer.  These ½ day camps last from 8 a.m. to noon from Monday to Friday for up to 25 kids that are 10 to 12 years old.  The first camp of the summer is for beginners and is called the “Conservationist Camp”.  At this camp kids learn the basics of the outdoors with hands on activities and safety instructions.  The kids that make it thru this 1/2 day camp will then be guaranteed to be selected for the “Sportsmen Camp” next year.  The “Sportsmen Camp” is a more advanced camp and will build upon the outdoor skills learned at the Conservation Camp the year before.
